Al-Menfi and Al-Lafi Discuss with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ways to Strengthen Political and Economic Relations

Tripoli, August 26, 2026 (LANA) – President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Menfi, and Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi received today, Wednesday, in Tripoli, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, and his accompanying delegation, and discussed with him ways to strengthen political and economic relations.
According to the office of the President of the Presidential Council, the minister conveyed at the outset of the meeting the greetings of the Emir of Qatar to the President of the Council, affirming the Qatari leadership’s keenness to continue strengthening cooperation and coordination relations with the State of Libya.
The meeting addressed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, as well as prospects for developing Libyan-Qatari relations and strengthening cooperation and coordination in the political, economic, and commercial fields in a manner that reflects the depth of the relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples.
The two sides also discussed ways to expand the economic and trade partnership, particularly in the fields of energy and investment, in a manner that serves their common interests. They stressed the importance of continuing consultation and coordination at the regional and international levels in support of the path toward stability and in strengthening bilateral relations and the partnership between the two countries.
