The Audit Bureau discusses with the National Oil Corporation and the Maritime Transport Corporation the settlement of debts and the regulation of supply operations

Tripoli, August 25, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Audit Bureau met yesterday, Monday, with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and the General Manager of the National Maritime Transport Company to discuss mechanisms for settling the company's outstanding debts to the NOC and regulating the transportation of petroleum products and fuel supplies. The aim is to enhance operational efficiency and ensure a consistent supply.

According to the Audit Bureau's official page on Monday evening, the meeting addressed the issue of debts related to tanker rentals. An agreement was reached to reconcile the financial obligations and schedule their repayment within a specific timeframe, in accordance with applicable legal and administrative procedures.

The meeting also discussed coordination mechanisms between the NOC and the National Maritime Transport Company regarding fuel supplies and the domestic transportation of petroleum products. Emphasis was placed on standardizing procedures and defining responsibilities to ensure integrated roles and improved operational efficiency.

The attendees stressed the importance of strengthening direct coordination between the relevant entities and adhering to applicable legislation and regulations. This will contribute to regulating transportation and supply operations and supporting a consistent supply.

The meeting is part of the Audit Bureau's ongoing monitoring of financial and operational matters related to the oil sector, and its efforts to enhance resource management efficiency and safeguard public funds.
