Al-Zoubi and Brent Discuss Support for Efforts to Strengthen Security and Stability in the Country

Tripoli, August 23, 2026 (LANA) – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Lieutenant General Abdulsalam Al-Zoubi, received Jeremy Brent, Senior Adviser for Libyan Political Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, and his accompanying delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the meeting addressed a number of files and issues of mutual interest, in addition to discussing the latest developments and updates concerning Libyan affairs.
The two sides also discussed prospects for developing cooperation and joint coordination in a manner that contributes to supporting efforts to strengthen security and stability and serves the shared interests of the two countries.
