Dbeibah Discusses Political Developments and Unification of Institutions in Libya with French Envoy

Tripoli, August 19, 2026 (LANA) – Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dbeibah, discussed today, Wednesday, with the Special Envoy of the French President to Libya, Paul Soler, developments in the political scene and the unification of institutions in Libya.
According to the Government Media Office, Soler conveyed to Dbeibah the greetings of French President Emmanuel Macron, noting that the meeting addressed developments in the political scene in Libya and the initiatives proposed to support the political process and unify state institutions.
The two sides affirmed the importance of continuing efforts aimed at unifying state institutions and supporting paths that promote stability and pave the way for elections.
The meeting also discussed bilateral relations between Libya and France and ways to strengthen them, particularly in the areas of economic and development cooperation, in addition to ongoing arrangements to resume direct flights between the two countries by the end of next September.
