Libyan-American Strategic Partnership Team Follows Up on Cooperation Tracks with the United States

Tripoli, August 16, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan-American Strategic Partnership Team held a meeting to follow up on cooperation tracks with the United States within the framework of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA), in implementation of the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity to develop the partnership between the two countries.

The Government Media Office stated that the team approved its report for the first half of 2026, documenting the course of work and the results achieved, including agreements and meetings held with the American side, as well as progress on issues related to oil and gas, natural resources and mining, aviation, trade, and investment.

The team also followed up on a number of executive files with American companies and institutions, including cooperation with Boeing, the cooperation track between the Libyan Mining Corporation and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), as well as measures related to improving the business environment and facilitating the entry of American companies into the Libyan market.

The meeting was attended by Mustafa Al-Manea, Head of the Executive Team for Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects; Khalifa Abdulsadiq, Minister of Oil and Gas; Suhail Aboushiha, Minister of Economy and Trade; and Ali Mahmoud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Libyan Investment Authority.
