The Minister of Housing discusses with his Omani counterpart ways to enhance cooperation in housing and urban development

Muscat, August 13, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of Housing and Construction, Essam Al-Tammouni, met today with the Minister of Housing and Urban Planning of the Sultanate of Oman to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in the fields of housing and urban development. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 25th Annual General Conference of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development.

The meeting reviewed several housing initiatives and projects being implemented by the Sultanate of Oman, as well as exploring opportunities to benefit from Oman's experiences and expertise in urban planning and the development of housing projects.

The program included a field visit to the Al-Shuruq neighborhood project in Salalah, where the delegation was briefed on the project's components, the urban planning approach employed, and the planning standards adopted in its implementation.

The meeting and field visit were attended by several officials from both sides, in addition to the Minister of Tourism of the Government of National Unity, Nasr Al-Din Al-Fazani, and the Somali Minister of Housing.

The meeting emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation and exchanging successful experiences and best practices to support efforts to develop the housing and urban development sector and to enhance the utilization of Arab experiences in this field.
