Belqasim Haftar discusses with the Turkish Foreign Minister ways to enhance the participation of Turkish companies in reconstruction projects in Libya.

Benghazi, August 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Director General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belqasim Haftar, met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss expanding areas of joint cooperation and enhancing the participation of Turkish companies in implementing development and reconstruction projects overseen by the Fund in several Libyan cities.

In a statement published on its official page on Wednesday, the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund explained that the meeting addressed the prospects for utilizing Turkish expertise and capabilities in implementing development projects, thereby supporting development and reconstruction efforts in Libya.

The two sides also discussed ways to expand the participation of specialized Turkish companies in reconstruction and development projects, within the framework of the Fund's strategy to strengthen its international partnerships and benefit from specialized expertise and competencies.

Following the meeting, Belqasim Haftar accompanied the Turkish Foreign Minister and his delegation on a visit to the tomb of the martyr Omar al-Mukhtar, before seeing them off at Benina International Airport.
