Surman Municipality announces that the railway administration building was subjected to acts of vandalism

Surman, August 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Surman Municipality announced that the railway administration building within its jurisdiction was vandalized and damaged on Wednesday. The municipality condemned the act, deeming it a clear attack on public property and a blatant violation of law and order.

In a statement, the municipality emphasized that such actions cannot be justified or tolerated, and that public facilities belong to all citizens. Attacks on these facilities harm the city and its residents, threaten the continuity of services, and contribute to instability and insecurity.

According to the municipality, the incident has been referred to the relevant security authorities to take all necessary legal measures, launch a comprehensive investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident, identify those responsible, and hold all those found to be involved accountable, in accordance with the law and without leniency.

The municipality called on all citizens to act responsibly, refrain from engaging in any actions that could damage public property or threaten security, and cooperate with the relevant authorities by reporting any information that could help identify those involved.

The municipality of Surman stressed that protecting public facilities is a collective responsibility, and that it will not hesitate to take whatever measures are necessary, within its jurisdiction, to preserve state property, protect the city’s assets, and ensure the continuity of services provided to citizens.
