Takala Discusses Bilateral Relations and Developments in Libya’s Political Scene with Hakan Fidan

Tripoli, August 11, 2026 (LANA) — President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, discussed the latest developments in Libya’s political scene with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a meeting with him in Tripoli on Tuesday.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy President of the Council, Naji Mukhtar, the Second Deputy President, Omar Bushah, and the Chairman of the Libyan-Turkish Friendship Committee, Musa Faraj.

According to the Council’s media office, the meeting addressed the latest developments in Libya’s political scene and the efforts being made to advance the political process toward consensus and stability. The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional issues of mutual interest and discussed ways to strengthen Libyan-Turkish relations and develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of continuing communication and consultation, and supporting efforts aimed at unifying state institutions and creating the appropriate conditions for completing the electoral process, in a manner that preserves Libya’s unity and stability.

The two sides also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation in a way that serves the shared interests of the Libyan and Turkish peoples.
