Al-Abed signs a memorandum of understanding with the Jordanian Minister of Transport and Labor in the fields of training and qualification

Amman, August 11, 2026 (LANA) – Libyan Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, signed a memorandum of understanding with Jordanian Minister of Transport and Labor, Nidal Qatamin, in Amman on Tuesday. The memorandum aims to enhance cooperation in the fields of labor, employment, vocational training, and the exchange of expertise and experiences between the two countries.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Jordan, Musa Al-Daqali, his deputy, the embassy's labor attaché, and several officials from both sides.
Al-Abed emphasized that the memorandum of understanding represents a significant step towards expanding the Libyan-Jordanian partnership in the labor sector and benefiting from Jordanian expertise in developing the training and rehabilitation system and regulating the labor market. He noted that cooperation will encompass vocational training, employment, labor inspection, occupational safety and health, the exchange of expertise, legislation, and institutional experiences, and the movement of labor.
For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Transport and Labor affirmed the deep fraternal relations between Libya and Jordan and the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening existing cooperation frameworks in the areas of labor, employment, and vocational training.
According to the Ministry of Labor, the memorandum of understanding comes within the framework of the government's approach to building effective partnerships with sister countries and benefiting from successful experiences in developing policies and programs for work, training, and qualification, in a way that serves the Libyan labor market and supports opportunities for joint cooperation.
