Brega Oil Company: A fire broke out in one of the diesel tanks at the Zawiya oil depot.

Zawiya, August 10, 2026 (LANA) – Brega Oil Marketing Company announced a fire broke out, accompanied by thick smoke, in gasoline tank number (402) at the Zawiya oil depot. The tank was damaged under circumstances which remain unknown.

Firefighting, safety, and emergency teams immediately began responding to the fire according to approved response plans. Simultaneously, cooling operations were carried out on adjacent tanks to prevent the fire from spreading. The situation is being monitored and the damage assessed, and any updates will be announced as soon as confirmed information becomes available.

The company reiterated its urgent appeal to all parties to cease hostilities and stay away from oil facilities and depots due to the highly flammable materials they contain. Targeting or approaching these facilities poses serious risks to the lives of citizens, workers, and the surrounding area, in addition to disrupting fuel supplies.
