Tripoli, August 10, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Health of the Government of National Unity announced today, Monday, the opening of nominations for the 2027 Arab Physician Award, affiliated with the League of Arab States. The award aims to honor physicians who have demonstrated dedication and excellence, and to celebrate their contributions to the development of medical practice, scientific research, and the advancement of healthcare systems.

The Ministry stated that the award encompasses several fields, including: excellence in scientific research and innovation; distinction, leadership, and professional and medical impact; good governance in the management and quality of healthcare systems; and resilient medicine, in recognition of physicians' efforts and their humanitarian role in confronting crises, emergencies, and disasters.

The Ministry of Health called upon distinguished Libyan physicians and those with scientific, professional, and humanitarian initiatives and achievements to seize this opportunity and apply for the award. This will contribute to highlighting Libyan medical expertise and its distinguished experiences at the Arab level.
