Tripoli, 10 August 2026 (Lana)—Libyan Army Chief of the General Staff, General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, affirmed that the Libyan Army must be an institution for all Libyans and a safeguard for every part of the country.

In his remarks during a graduation ceremony for batches of students from military academies and colleges, held at the Naval Studies Academy in Janzour, Al-Namroush said the Libyan military institution was built through great sacrifices, with its doctrine forged in the blood of the founding fathers and the early mujahideen.

The Chief of the General Staff stressed that maintaining the military institution and ensuring its high level of readiness requires investment in human capabilities and military expertise, noting that the upcoming strategy will focus on modern education and advanced training as two fundamental pillars for building an army capable of addressing contemporary challenges.

“The military institution, with unlimited support from the Government of National Unity and the Ministry of Defense, will work toward reaching the highest international standards and benefiting from advanced military expertise and experience,” he added.

Al-Namroush noted that future training plans will include sending officers and personnel to leading international institutions, in cooperation with advanced countries, with the aim of preparing a generation of military personnel capable of understanding contemporary challenges and addressing them effectively.

He also stressed the continued efforts to build a model army characterized by discipline and professionalism, free from political polarization and close to the concerns of citizens.
