Ministry of Agriculture Holds a Meeting with FAO and AOAD.

Tripoli, 10 August 2026 (Lana) The GNU Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity discussed on Sunday mechanisms for activating technical cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD) and evaluated ongoing programs and projects to support the agricultural and livestock sectors and enhance food security objectives.

This came during an expanded meeting chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mohamed Al-Turki, at the National Center for Animal Health, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Abdul Latif Al-Taher, aimed at developing technical cooperation and exchanging expertise with specialized regional and international organizations.

The meeting reviewed a number of proposed cooperation projects with FAO and the AOAD for the next phase, in addition to discussing the actual needs of the agricultural and livestock sectors for technical support and specialized expertise required to advance them.

The meeting was attended by the Minister’s Office Director, directors of the technical departments and offices at the Ministry, directors and heads of the Ministry’s affiliated centers, agencies, and technical bodies, as well as a number of specialized experts and technicians.
