Al-Marj Security Directorate seizes 29 illegal migrants on the eastern coast.

Al-Marj, 9 August 2026 (Lana), Greater Al-Marj Security Directorate, in coordination with the Illegal Migration Control Agency - Coastal Branch, successfully carried out a security operation that resulted in the detention of 29 illegal migrants on the eastern coast.
The Directorate said in a statement that Talmitah Police Station received a report at 7:00 a.m. about a group of migrants who had arrived on the shore aboard a fishing boat before heading through a valley toward a mountainous area.
The Directorate stated that patrols from the Zawiya Anblou Police Station moved to the location and found the boat used in the smuggling operation, containing several life jackets and two 40-horsepower engines, and detained the migrants in the mountainous area.
The Directorate said 19 of those detained were Pakistani nationals, while the others were Bangladeshi nationals.
The migrants were transferred to the A-Marj Security Directorate to complete the necessary legal procedures before being referred to the Illegal Migration Control Agency for further action in accordance with applicable legislation.
