Al-Zoubi discusses efforts to unify the military institution with Turkish intelligence chief in Ankara

Ankara, August 4, 2026 (LANA) – Deputy Minister of Defense of the Government of National Unity, Lieutenant General Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi, was received in the Turkish capital, Ankara, by Head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT), Ibrahim Kalin, where they discussed the latest developments in Libya and a number of issues of mutual interest.

The meeting addressed developments in the political process and efforts to unify the military institution on professional and national foundations, in a way that strengthens the unity of state institutions and supports the comprehensive political settlement process.

According to the our government platform, both sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultations on issues of common concern and supporting efforts aimed at consolidating stability, creating favorable conditions for the success of the political process and fulfilling the aspirations of the Libyan people.
