Libya’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League meets with his Syrian Counterpart.

Cairo 3 August 2026 (Lana) Libya’s Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States and Chargé d’Affaires of the Libyan Embassy in Egypt, Abdulmutallab Thabet, met with his Syrian counterpart and Chargé d’Affaires at the Syrian Embassy in Cairo, Yahya Diab, to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, as well as prospects for developing cooperation and coordination within the framework of joint Arab action.
During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued consultation and coordination on regional and Arab issues, which contributes to supporting joint Arab action and strengthening the fraternal relations that bind Libya and Syria.
The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Political Section at the Libyan Embassy, Omar Al-Mashri, and the Syrian Ambassador’s Advisor, Mohammed Abu Saree’.
