Takala discusses bilateral relations and political developments with the Egyptian ambassador

Tripoli, August 2, 2026 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today in Tripoli with the Egyptian Ambassador to Libya, Tamer El-Hefny, to discuss bilateral relations and the latest political developments in the country.
According to the Council's media office, the Egyptian Ambassador began the meeting by congratulating Takala on his election as President of the Council and the election of the members of the Presidential Bureau, expressing his wishes for their success during this critical period for the country.
The meeting addressed the latest political developments in Libya, reviewing efforts to bridge the gaps between the various Libyan parties and ways to advance the democratic process to achieve the Libyan people's aspirations for comprehensive stability and the holding of elections as soon as possible.
The meeting also reviewed the historical bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the importance of activating channels of coordination and joint cooperation in various fields to serve common interests and enhance the security and stability of the region.
