Tripoli 2 August 2026 (Lana) United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) congratulated the new Presidency of the High Council of State (HCS) and looks forward to constructive engagement with all Council members during the upcoming period.

In a statement, UNSMIL said that it followed the live broadcast of the (HCS) session last Wednesday, during which 138 members elected a new presidency of the Council.

“The Mission looks forward to constructive engagement with all Council members to advance the political process and implementation of the political roadmap leading to national elections and unified institutions,” it added.
