Takala discusses with the Turkish ambassador the latest political developments and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation

Tripoli, July 30, 2026 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Dr. Mohamed Takala, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Libya, Guven Begiç, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli on Thursday.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Turkish Ambassador congratulated Dr. Takala on his re-election as President of the High Council of State, expressing his wishes for his success in his duties.

The two sides discussed the latest political developments in Libya and ways to support national reconciliation efforts and enhance stability, in addition to discussing a number of issues of common interest.

Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation, and strengthening cooperation between Libya and Turkey in various fields, in a way that serves common interests, contributes to supporting the political process, and fulfills the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, stability, and prosperity.
