Ministry of Agriculture Launches Campaign to Combat Insects and Mosquitoes

Tripoli, July 30, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of the Government of National Unity launched a large-scale field campaign today, Thursday, to combat insects and mosquitoes in Tajoura Municipality. This initiative comes under the direct instructions of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, as part of the Ministry's efforts to reduce the spread of disease-carrying insects and enhance public health and environmental protection.

The Ministry explained on its official page that the campaign is being implemented by teams from the National Center for Plant Protection and Quarantine. In its first phase, the campaign targets the streets, alleys, and neighborhoods of Tajoura Municipality, as part of a field program covering various areas within the municipality.

The Ministry added that the campaign will continue in its subsequent phases to include farms located in the Eastern and Western Valley regions, within a comprehensive plan covering the entire Tajoura Municipality.

The campaign aims to reduce the spread of insects and mosquitoes and prevent the diseases and epidemics they transmit, thus contributing to the preservation of public health and environmental safety, according to the same source.
