Takala and Qazit in a second round to elect the head of the High Council of State

Tripoli, July 29, 2026 (LANA) – The State Council presidential election is heading to a second round between Mohamed Takala and Belkacem Qazit.
The results of the first round of voting were as follows:
- Mohamed Takala: 62 votes
- Belkacem Qazit: 34 votes
- Salah Metou: 25 votes
- Mustafa Al-Turki: 4 votes
Abdulrahman Al-Suwaihli: 12 votes
