Al-Menfi and Al-Lafi adopt a number of decisions regarding the retirement of Libyan army officers.

Tripoli, July 28, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, and Council Member Abdullah Al-Lafi approved several retirement decisions for Libyan army officers on Tuesday. The decision was made in the presence of the Acting Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush, and the Director of the Office of the Supreme Commander, Lieutenant General Mohammed Bin Yousef.
According to the Presidential Council's media office, the decisions included the retirement of several officers who had reached the legal retirement age, as well as the retirement of officers who had died in action. Additionally, a decision was issued to terminate the recall of several officers to military service, in accordance with applicable procedures and regulations.
These decisions, according to the media office, reflect the Supreme Commander's commitment to safeguarding the legal and professional rights of members of the military establishment, upholding the principles of administrative justice, and ensuring the regular settlement of employment statuses. This aims to strengthen institutional discipline, protect the rights of military personnel and their families, and keep pace with the development requirements of the military establishment within the framework of applicable laws.
