Al-Baour discusses bilateral relations and investment promotion between the two countries with the Beninese Foreign Minister

Addis Ababa, July 28, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, met today, Tuesday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Benin, Corinne Amory Broni, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and encouraging investment between the two countries. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union in Ethiopia.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral relations and explored prospects for developing joint cooperation in various fields, contributing to the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination, consultation, and mutual support in regional and international forums, reflecting the depth of relations between Libya and Benin and strengthening joint African action.
The discussions also covered opportunities to expand economic cooperation and encourage investment between the two countries, in addition to emphasizing the importance of strengthening African relations and activating cooperation frameworks within the African Union.
The two sides exchanged views on the latest political and security developments in the region, stressing the importance of supporting efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and promoting peace and development on the African continent.
