ITA Airways and Lufthansa visit Mitiga Airport.

Tripoli 28 July 2026 (Lana) A delegation from the Italian airline ITA Airways and Germany’s Lufthansa visited Mitiga International Airport on Monday to discuss arrangements for operating direct flights between Libya, Italy, and Germany and to strengthen cooperation in the aviation sector.
The delegation, received by the airport's Director General, Lotfi Nashnoush, toured the airport facilities, reviewed its operational capabilities and the services provided to passengers, and held meetings with airport administration to discuss technical and operational aspects, as well as safety and security requirements, ensuring the airport's readiness to receive and operate flights in line with the highest international standards.
According to the airport's official page, this visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with international airlines and support Mitiga International Airport's plan to expand its network of destinations, facilitating passenger travel and enhancing air connectivity between Libya and Europe.
