Tripoli, July 27, 2026 (LANA) – Member of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Rules, Privileges, and Discipline Committee of the Pan-African Parliament, Saleh Qalma Yesko, chaired a meeting of the committee, attended by the Vice-Chairman and Rapporteur, to discuss several organizational and legal matters related to the work of the Pan-African Parliament. Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Relations of the Government of the Republic of South Africa and the President of the Southern African Regional Assembly, Boboray Tugarbe, also participated.

House of Representatives spokesperson, Abdullah Blihaq, stated in a press release that the committee discussed the immunities and privileges enjoyed by members of the Pan-African Parliament in accordance with relevant regulations, laws, and treaties, and ways to enhance them. The committee also reviewed agreements with host countries that govern the work of the Parliament.

Blihaq added that the meeting reviewed the fulfillment of the necessary conditions for new members to join the Pan-African Parliament, prior to their taking the legal oath. The committee also discussed the ratification of the Malabo Protocol by member states.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the committee chairman confirmed that the committee would hold its next meeting before October to continue following up on the topics on its agenda.
