Water Resources Ministry Discusses Launching National Innovation Award in the Water Sector

Tripoli, July 26, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Water Resources discussed with the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research arrangements for launching the Libyan Innovation Award in the water sector. The award aims to encourage researchers and innovators to present scientific and technological solutions that contribute to the sustainability of water resources and enhance the sector's ability to meet future challenges.
This discussion took place during a meeting held yesterday, Sunday, at the headquarters of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research. The meeting included Mukhtar Radi, Director of the International Cooperation Office at the Ministry of Water Resources, and Dr. Faisal Abdul-Azim Al-Abdali, Director General of the Libyan Authority for Scientific Research, along with a number of specialists.
The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the two sides and prepare a joint cooperation agreement in the fields of scientific research, applied studies, and the exchange of expertise. This agreement aims to contribute to the development of the water sector, raise the efficiency of scientific research, and enhance water security in Libya.
This cooperation comes within the framework of the Ministry of Water Resources’ orientation towards expanding partnerships with research and scientific institutions, and supporting innovation as one of the basic pillars for developing the water sector and achieving the sustainability of its resources.
