Tripoli, July 23, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Oil and Gas in the Government of National Unity, Khalifa Rajab Abdul Sadiq, discussed with officials from Total Energies ways to enhance joint cooperation and develop oil and gas projects, supporting efforts to increase production rates and strengthen the performance of the energy sector.

This came during a meeting held at the Ministry headquarters in Tripoli, attended by the President of Total Energies Exploration and Production for the Middle East and North Africa, Julien Pouget, the company's President in Libya, Pedro Ribeiro, and the new President of the company in Libya, Simon Dessendes, along with a number of Ministry officials.

The meeting addressed the company's operations in Libya, its future plans for developing oil and gas projects, mechanisms for increasing production, and expanding areas of cooperation, in line with the state's directives to advance the energy sector and strengthen partnerships with international companies.

The meeting also included the introduction of Simon Dessendes as the new President of Total Energies in Libya, as part of the ongoing cooperation and partnership between the Ministry and the company.
