Libya participates in the youth development summer camp in Beijing

Tripoli, July 22, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Youth of the Government of National Unity is participating in the 2026 Summer Camp for Youth Development for a Shared Future, hosted by Beijing, China, at the official invitation of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Libya. Five Libyan youth are participating alongside more than 80 young men and women representing 16 countries.
The Ministry of Youth explained on its official page that the Libyan youth delegation arrived in the Chinese capital to participate in the camp's activities. Organized by the Chinese Song Qingling Foundation, the week-long camp aims to enhance cooperation and youth exchange among participating countries.
The camp aims to introduce participants to the Chinese experience in economic and social development, highlight the history and present of the Silk Road, promote cultural exchange, develop young people's knowledge, and expand opportunities for interaction with their peers from around the world.
Libya's participation comes in response to an official invitation conveyed by the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Libya to the Minister of Youth, Haitham Al-Zahhaf, during a meeting in Tripoli. The importance of expanding youth cooperation between the two countries was emphasized during the meeting.
