Libyan Mission in Damascus Organizes Meeting Between Syrian President and Libyan Economic Delegation to Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Damascus, July 22, 2026 (LANA) – The Libyan Mission in Damascus organized a meeting on Wednesday between the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, and a Libyan economic delegation headed by the Chairman of the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Al-Raied, at the People's Palace in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

The meeting was attended by the Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, Nidal Al-Shaar, along with a number of Libyan and Syrian officials.

The discussions focused on ways to strengthen economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the State of Libya and the Syrian Arab Republic. Both sides reviewed opportunities to expand partnerships between the public and private sectors in a manner that contributes to increasing bilateral trade, encouraging joint investments, and enhancing economic cooperation in support of the shared interests of the two countries.
