Agricultural police intensify patrols to protect forests and agricultural projects from fires

Tripoli, July 21, 2026 (LANA) – The Agricultural Police Department has intensified its patrols and field visits to monitor the conditions of forests, reserves, and agricultural areas, as part of efforts to strengthen preventative measures and enhance preparedness to combat fire risks.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock stated on its official page that the Agricultural Police Department's branch in the four districts conducted an inspection tour yesterday, Monday, which included the Abu Aisha agricultural project and the surrounding olive groves, in addition to the forest strip in the Souq al-Khamis Imsehel area and the Wadi al-Majinin dam forests, with the aim of assessing the field situation and strengthening preventative measures.

The Ministry confirmed that these tours are being carried out in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock in the Government of National Unity and the instructions of the Acting Head of the Agricultural Police Department, in coordination with the National Safety Authority, to ensure a rapid response to any emergency and to protect vegetation and agricultural resources.
