Tripoli, July 19, 2026 (LANA) – The Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Salah al-Din al-Namroush, emphasized the need to intensify efforts and work continuously to develop the military institution through training programs and effective organization.

This came during an expanded meeting he held today, Sunday, which included the chiefs of the various branches of the armed forces, the Secretary-General of the General Staff, and the heads of departments and directorates affiliated with the General Staff. The meeting focused on monitoring the implementation of the plan to restructure and reorganize the military institution and addressing the most prominent challenges it faces.

Al-Namroush stressed the importance of adhering to administrative regulations and raising performance levels. He directed that efforts be intensified and work continued to develop the military institution through training programs and effective organization, thereby contributing to enhancing the Libyan army's readiness to protect the homeland and preserve its stability.

The meeting discussed a number of strategic issues related to organizing administrative workflows and the difficulties hindering the implementation of the approved plan. It also explored ways to improve the efficiency and development of the Libyan army's human resources, ensuring the refinement of their skills and raising the institution's knowledge and military capabilities.

In the context of organizing the public forces, the Chief of the General Staff was keen to follow up on the retirement file and settle the related legal and administrative matters in accordance with applicable regulations, stressing the necessity of full adherence to attendance and military discipline in all units and departments, according to the General Staff.
