The Minister of Education approves the results of the first round of the preparatory certificate exams with a success rate of (75.46) percent

Tripoli, July 19, 2026 (LANA) – The Minister of Education in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Abdul Salam Al-Qaryu, approved today, Sunday, the results of the first-round examinations for the Basic Education Certificate for the 2025-2026 academic year. The pass rate was 75.46%, out of a total of 211,416 students who sat for the exams. Of these, 159,533 passed, while 51,883 students will take the second-round exams.

According to the Ministry, 73,123 students achieved an excellent grade, 59,579 achieved a very good grade, 24,302 achieved a good grade, and 2,529 students achieved a pass grade.

The success rate for Libyan students abroad reached 89.10%, out of a total of 624 students. 556 students passed, while 68 students will have a second chance to retake the exam. 385 students achieved an excellent grade, 140 achieved a very good grade, 29 achieved a good grade, and 2 students achieved a pass grade.

The success rate for religious education students was 47.54%, out of a total of 284 students. Of these, 135 students passed, 149 had a second chance, 23 achieved an excellent grade, 56 achieved a very good grade, 44 achieved a good grade, and 12 achieved a pass grade.

The success rate for deaf and hard-of-hearing students was 95.24%, out of a total of 63 students. Of these, 60 passed, 3 had a second chance, 34 achieved an excellent grade, 22 achieved a very good grade, and 4 achieved a good grade.

The Minister of Education congratulated all the successful students and their parents, wishing them continued success in their educational journey. He also urged students who will be taking the second-round exams to redouble their efforts and prepare well to achieve success. He commended the efforts of the examination committees, teachers, and all staff who contributed to the successful conduct of the exams and their completion according to the approved procedures.
