Paulus Assigns US Chargé d'Affaires in Libya as Advisor on Libyan Political Affairs

Tripoli, July 18, 2026 (LANA) – Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Paulus, announced the assignment of the US Chargé d'Affaires in Libya, Jeremy Burnett, to additional duties as his Senior Advisor on Libyan Political Affairs, affirming the United States' continued commitment to strengthening the bilateral partnership with Libya.

In a post on the “X” platform, Paulus expressed his pleasure at Burnett assuming this additional role, alongside his current duties as US Chargé d'Affaires in Libya.

The US official reiterated the United States' commitment to supporting Libyan efforts aimed at achieving peace, unity, stability, and prosperity, and to strengthening the bilateral partnership between the two countries.
