Delegations representing 21 Arab countries are participating in the session, along with the Director General of AIDMO, Adel Al-Saqr, as well as ministers of industry and senior officials from member states.
In his opening remarks, Dbeibah emphasized that holding the session in Tripoli sends a clear message: Arab cooperation is the surest path to achieving development, and economic integration is no longer an option but a necessity imposed by rapid economic changes.
He called for moving from exchanging visions to building practical partnerships and launching joint Arab initiatives and investments that achieve growth, create job opportunities, and enhance the economic security of Arab countries.
Dbeibah noted that the National Unity Government continues to implement its vision for diversifying the national economy by developing the industrial sector, improving the investment climate, revitalizing industrial zones, leveraging mineral resources, encouraging manufacturing industries, and supporting the private sector. He emphasized that the future of Arab industry can only be achieved through the integration of expertise, policy convergence, and the expansion of joint investments, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Arab economies.
The opening session witnessed the official launch of the Arab Platform for Industrial Indicators, one of the organization's most prominent strategic initiatives. This platform aims to establish a unified Arab database of industrial indicators, supporting policy development, strengthening decision-making, and providing accurate indicators for measuring industrial performance in Arab countries.
The working sessions also discussed the organization's initiatives aimed at accelerating digital transformation and expanding the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the fields of industry, standardization, and mining. This will contribute to boosting productivity, enhancing competitiveness, and keeping pace with global industrial developments.
For their part, the participating ministers and heads of delegations emphasized in their speeches the importance of strengthening joint Arab action to confront economic and industrial challenges, developing cooperation in the fields of industry, standardization, and mining, and adopting digital transformation and artificial intelligence as a strategic option for modernizing the Arab industrial sector.
The heads of delegations commended Libya for hosting the session, considering the launch of the Arab Platform for Industrial Indicators a significant institutional step towards unifying industrial data, supporting decision-making, and enhancing economic and industrial integration among Arab countries.
