Benghazi – July 15, 2026 (LANA) – The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, met today, Wednesday, with the Mayor of Benghazi and members of the Municipal Council to discuss ways to enhance cooperation on the first day of the joint UN agency mission to eastern Libya.

The meeting focused on strengthening service delivery, supporting the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and advancing sustainable development efforts to meet local priorities.

Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening partnership and joint coordination to translate local priorities into tangible improvements that positively impact the lives of citizens.
