Tripoli, July 13, 2026 (LANA) – The Head of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Menfi, affirmed that unifying the military institution is a national priority that cannot be postponed.
This came during a meeting he held today, Monday, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli, with the Acting Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Din Al-Namroush.
Al-Menfi stressed that unifying the military institution is the cornerstone for building a unified national army capable of fulfilling its constitutional duties in protecting the homeland, preserving its sovereignty, securing its borders, and maintaining the security of citizens and the stability of the state.
During the meeting, according to the Presidential Council's media office, Al-Namroush presented the Supreme Commander with a comprehensive military briefing on the outcomes of the military meeting held in Sirte yesterday.
The Chief of the General Staff reviewed the results achieved and the practical steps taken to unify the military institution on national and professional foundations, in accordance with the strategic vision led by the Presidential Council in its capacity as Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, according to the media office.
