Tripoli, July 12, 2026 (LANA) – The Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderbouh, met today in Tripoli with the Chinese Ambassador to Libya, Ma Xueliang, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the areas of administrative oversight and combating corruption, and to develop the partnership between the two sides.
The meeting addressed mechanisms for cooperation with their Chinese counterparts through the signing of memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements, the exchange of expertise, and the implementation of training and capacity-building programs. It also explored benefiting from the Chinese experience in governance, administrative reform, and digital transformation to support comprehensive oversight systems.
Qaderbouh reviewed the Authority's efforts in implementing the objectives of the National Strategy for Performance Oversight and Combating and Preventing Corruption (2025-2030), emphasizing that strengthening integrity, transparency, and the rule of law contributes to creating an attractive investment environment and supporting development and reconstruction efforts.
According to the oversight body, the two sides discussed the situation of Chinese companies operating in Libya, particularly stalled projects and contracts, and ways to address them in coordination with relevant government authorities to ensure their completion within legal frameworks and in a manner that serves the public interest and sustainable development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and exchange of expertise to enhance joint cooperation, support anti-corruption efforts, and contribute to developing oversight mechanisms and strengthening Libyan-Chinese relations.
