The Libyan File Tops the Agenda of Talks Between the Egyptian and Turkish Foreign Ministers

Tripoli, July 12, 2026 (LANA) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty discussed developments in the Libyan file during a phone call with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan. Both ministers affirmed their support for efforts aimed at achieving security and stability, and preserving the unity, sovereignty, and institutions of the Libyan state.
The call also addressed ways to enhance coordination and consultation between the two countries on issues of common interest, particularly developments related to Libya.
According to a statement published on the official Facebook page of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, the two ministers also discussed several regional issues, including the situations in Syria, Lebanon, and Sudan, as well as the Palestinian issue.
Both sides affirmed their commitment to continued consultation and coordination on various regional and international issues, in a manner that serves the common interests of both countries.
