The Ministry of Finance and the United Nations hold a dialogue session on sustainable financing for development in Libya

Tripoli, July 8, 2026 (LANA) – The Ministry of Finance of the Government of National Unity, the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) held a high-level dialogue on innovative and sustainable financing for development in Libya.

In her remarks at the session, the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General and UN Resident Coordinator in Libya, Ulrika Richardson, emphasized the legitimate development aspirations of the Libyan people.

She stressed that nationwide development ambitions can only be realized through coordinated, sustainable, and effective financing, and strong, unified institutions.

According to the UN, the dialogue session included representatives from government institutions, the financial and private sectors, development partners, international financial institutions, the diplomatic corps, and representatives from various UN agencies in Libya, to discuss practical ways to finance development priorities across Libya.
