Tripoli, July 8, 2026 (LANA) – The General Water and Sanitation Company continued its field operations in several Libyan cities and regions on Wednesday. These operations included the maintenance of water and sewage networks, cleaning of sewage chambers, and repair of leaks. The company also distributed water consumption vouchers to citizens and businesses as part of its efforts to improve network efficiency, enhance service levels, and boost revenue collection.
The company explained on its official page that the maintenance work included repairing and restoring a two-inch polyethylene water line in the Al-Fath neighborhood of Souq al-Jum'a, repairing a leak inside a sewage chamber, and repairing a one-and-a-quarter-inch water line in the Gargour area. Additionally, a one-inch water line was repaired in the city of Surman. These efforts contribute to maintaining network efficiency and ensuring the continuity of water supplies.
The company added that its sanitation teams carried out cleaning and removal of debris from the main sewage chambers in the Al-Hashan area of Tripoli, in addition to cleaning and clearing sewage network chambers in the Buhedima area of Benghazi and the Al-Sirti area of the Ali Bin Abi Talib neighborhood, with the aim of ensuring the smooth operation of the networks and addressing blockages.
As part of its customer services, the Qasr Bin Ghashir collection unit distributed the second quarter water consumption vouchers to residents in the Souq Al-Sabt area. Meanwhile, the Hun collection unit, in cooperation with the Jufra Municipal Guard, continued distributing water consumption vouchers to commercial establishments, as part of the company's plan to ensure timely delivery of vouchers, facilitate payment procedures, and enhance the regularity of collection processes, thus supporting the sustainability of services, according to the same source.
