Tripoli, July 7, 2026 (LANA) – The results of the “Give Your Opinion” public opinion poll, launched by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) in conjunction with the structured dialogue, revealed that Libyans are demanding enhanced accountability, an end to corruption, credible national elections, the formation of legitimate and unified institutions, and a reduction in the influence of armed groups.
The Mission explained that the full results of the poll, published on its official website, which was conducted online and by telephone between December 2025 and April 2026, along with youth-led discussions on the Mission’s digital youth platform, contributed to supporting the four tracks of the structured dialogue.
The results showed that 82 percent of participants support excluding individuals involved in corruption or human rights violations from holding public office.
Accountability was also among the top priorities identified by participants, while 90 percent expressed their support for holding national elections as a fundamental step towards building legitimate and stable institutions.
The survey results also highlighted the concerns and aspirations of women and youth regarding the country's future, reflecting the importance of involving diverse segments of society in shaping Libya's future political trajectory.
