UN mission: Participants in the mini-meeting finalize all outstanding issues

Tunis, July 6, 2026 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced that the fifth meeting in a series of smaller-group meetings aimed at addressing the first two steps of the UN-facilitated roadmap was held at its office in the Tunisian capital on Monday in a positive atmosphere.

According to the UN mission, the consultations took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, leading to important understandings.

The participants completed discussions on all outstanding issues during the meeting, reaffirming their commitment to the agreements reached in previous sessions, according to the mission.

The participants agreed to task a working group from among the committee members, with the support of the UN mission, to draft the final agreement, which is expected to be signed during the next meeting next week.
