Al-Baour discusses with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme expanding partnership in areas of supporting sustainable development

Tripoli, July 2, 2026 (LANA) – The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, met today with the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Libya, Sophie Kimkhadze, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the Ministry and the UNDP, and prospects for expanding their partnership in areas of sustainable development support.

They also discussed institutional capacity building and public administration development, in addition to reviewing ongoing joint programs and projects and exchanging views on mechanisms to strengthen coordination and cooperation in implementing development initiatives, ensuring more effective and sustainable results.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation, strengthen their partnership, and work on developing cooperation programs that serve common interests and support development and stability efforts in Libya, while emphasizing the importance of continued constructive cooperation between the Libyan government and the UNDP.
