Tripoli, July 2, 2026 (LANA) – The Government of National Unity has mandated that all municipal councils submit correspondence, requests, memoranda, and reports addressed to the Cabinet Office through the Minister of Local Government. The government emphasized that only correspondence received through this channel will be considered valid, as part of efforts to streamline procedures and unify communication channels among government entities.
This directive was issued by the Cabinet Office, based on instructions from the Prime Minister, stipulating that the Minister of Local Government is the competent authority for coordinating and monitoring all matters related to municipalities. This aims to expedite the completion of tasks and enhance institutional coordination among government bodies.
The circular further emphasized that the Cabinet Office will not consider any correspondence or requests submitted directly in violation of this directive, except in cases where a specific instruction or directive is issued by the Prime Minister.
The Cabinet Office called upon mayors to adhere to the circular and its provisions to ensure the proper conduct of official correspondence through established channels.
