Tripoli, July 1, 2026 (LANA) – Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs, Mohammed Bin Al-Ghalboun, assumed his duties as Acting Minister of Local Government on Wednesday, succeeding Abdul-Shafi Al-Juwaifi, who was recently appointed by the Presidential Council as Deputy Head of the General Intelligence Service for Public Affairs and External Communication.
The handover ceremony took place at the Ministry headquarters in Tripoli, in the presence of the handover committee, several department and office directors within the Ministry, and mayors.
The newly appointed Minister, Mohammed Bin Al-Ghalboun, affirmed his commitment to developing the local administration system in cooperation with all administrative and technical units within the sector. His aim is to enhance local services and improve their quality to meet the needs and aspirations of citizens throughout the country.
He expressed his appreciation to the outgoing Minister, Abdul-Shafi Al-Juwaifi, for his significant efforts and the achievements of the Ministry during his tenure, wishing him success in his new role.
