Takala meets with Meliqta to discuss the latest political and security developments in the country

Tripoli, July 1, 2026 (LANA) – The President of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, met today, Wednesday, with the newly appointed head of the Libyan Intelligence Service, Abdul Majid Meliqta, at the Council's headquarters in Tripoli to discuss the latest political and security developments in the country.
The Council explained that the meeting, which was also attended by the head of the Council's National Security Committee, Abdul Fattah Hablous, and Council members Zainab Toushi and Jamila Al-Zawi, addressed several issues related to national security. These included the importance of strengthening coordination among state institutions to support stability, maintain the country's security, and confront challenges that threaten the national interest. The meeting also emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts aimed at consolidating security and stability and creating the appropriate conditions to advance the political process and achieve the supreme national interest.
