Shakshak meets with the two Deputy Representatives of the UN Secretary-General.

Tripoli, 30 June 2026 (Lana)—Head of the Audit Bureau Khaled Shakshak met with the Deputy Special Representatives of the UN Secretary-General, Stephanie Koury and Ulrika Richardson, to discuss governance reforms, institutional accountability, and economic governance.
The UN Mission in Libya stated on its official website today that the discussions reviewed the findings of recent audits, including reports on the pharmaceutical and oil sectors, emphasizing the importance of transparency, accountability, and effective oversight in protecting public resources and safeguarding the interests of citizens.
Both sides stressed that identifying governance challenges must now be followed by serious implementation of reforms and concrete follow-up measures.
During the meeting, progress made within the framework of the Structured Dialogue facilitated by UNSMIL was reviewed, particularly on the economic track; also discussed was how its recommendations can support the implementation of urgent reforms, strengthen cohesion and cooperation among institutions, and bolster economic governance.
The UN reiterated its commitment to supporting Libyan institutions through dialogue, technical cooperation, and coordinated engagement, with the aim of translating reform commitments into tangible improvements that enhance public trust and contribute to long-term stability and sustainable development in Libya.
