Tunis, June 24, 2026 (LANA) – The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced that participants in the fourth round of the “mini-meeting” consultations reached an agreement on the presidential election law, building upon the understandings reached during previous meetings.

The Mission stated that it hosted the fourth round of the “mini-meeting” consultations on Wednesday at its office in Tunis. These consultations aim to reach an agreement on the first two phases of the UN-facilitated roadmap.

According to the Mission, the discussions took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with participants reaching an agreement on the presidential election law. This agreement builds upon the understandings reached during previous meetings regarding the parliamentary election law and the completion of the formation of the board of directors of the High National Elections Commission.

The Mission affirmed that the consultations have addressed most of the issues related to the electoral process within the first two phases of the roadmap and are nearing the completion of the necessary understandings regarding the electoral process.

The participants agreed to hold the fifth round of their consultations during the first half of next month to continue discussions and build upon the progress achieved.
