Tripoli, 24 June 2026 (Lana)—Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohammed Takala, received yesterday the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT), İbrahim Kalın, and his accompanying delegation at the HCS’s headquarters in Tripoli.

The meeting discussed the latest political and security developments in Libya and the region, where they emphasized the importance of continued consultation and coordination between the two parties on issues of common interest, contributing to the support of security and stability.

Kalın affirmed his country’s support for efforts to achieve stability in Libya, stressing that the success of any political process requires an inclusive national consensus among different Libyan parties, safeguarding the country’s unity and sovereignty.

For his part, Takala commended the Turkish role in supporting Libya’s stability, emphasizing that any sustainable political settlement must be based on a Libyan-Libyan consensus grounded in legal and constitutional frameworks, protecting the national sovereignty and the independence of political decision-making in a way that promotes the unity of state institutions and paving the way for holding elections and achieving the desired stability.
